    Stock tires on 4.88 gears

Also I should mention I know that bigger tires are better for fuel economy, but at a certain point the increased rolling weight has to outweigh gear ratio, right? Are there any really lightweight 35" road tires out there? I could probably run 37 x 10 but they're so heavy...

    Stock tires on 4.88 gears

Sup fellow money haters! My 35s are beginning to show their age after a few years of mixed road/trail use. I'm looking into replacements but I'd like to get some road tires to swap out. I realize it'll look absolutely ridiculous with road tires and giant fiberglass fenders but I get 9mpg right...

    Stock skid plates “failing”

I beat the piss out of my RCI skids at Chinamen gulch. I was way overweight and squatting pretty good on my OME lift. 4"lift in the rear but I had to drop the panhard down a peg to get it level again. Ran a small gouge in the diff skid and bent the bracket pretty good. Polished my driveshaft...

    Stock skid plates “failing”

Rubicon trail must not be that tough then. I murdered my stock skids. Bent the fuel tank skid so bad I lost a lot of fuel tank capacity. Wore holes in the front skid pretty quickly. They're air dams, not skid plates. They won't protect anything from rocks. They do ok for sticks and if...

    Who's running the Klever R/T 35X10.50 ?

I'm running pro comp steelies with a pretty big offset, can't remember the backspacing at the moment. Do not get the spc arms. They're great, but alignment techs are ****ing stupid and can't ever figure out how to align them. Just go with the jba and be done with it. My 35x12.50 nitto ridge...

    Welding PCK

I may be crazy but I consider sliders life saving devices... Being in the bay you might be boned, take a trip south. I know shops in LA will have reasonable rates, I don't believe anything is reasonably priced within 50 miles of any bay area city. Head to Oregon and find a fab shop in the...

    4th Gen vs 3rd Gen

05+ have extra California crap on them. 4th gen has electric hydro boost, based on that I'd never consider a 3rd gen. Check for frame rot. Fully boxed steel frame like to trap water and salt. I only drive mine in the Midwest winter if I absolutely have to. It's a rust free pnw truck, and it's...

Modding and life of the 4runner

I'm at 220k with a heavily modified rock crawler. It gets beat on. 35s, air locked 4.88 diffs, 3/8 steel full skid plates, shorty headers, big steel bumpers, dom sliders, rcv cv axles, diamond plate driver side cargo window, dual battery, high output alternator, pedal commander thingy... I...

Who makes a full rear plate bumper?

4x4 labs bumper is too weak if you run 35s and want to carry a spare on the carrier they sell with it. It can take a hit, I've dented mine up a bit. The little struts the send out with the swing arms are garbage. One of mine blew out almost immediately.

son totaled my truck. anyone in mi need parts?

I would like the lower half of the air filter housing. Just the plastic box and the three bolts. I'll take that flooring too not the mats Wheel speed sensor wires up front would be nice. I might be interested in doors/ignition switch. Possibly some other stuff as well if you're still parting...

So this happened over the weekend....

Yeah if you can get their insurance underwritten by Garrison everything is gravy. The had progressive as the underwriters for me and I just went straight to progressive for a better rate
