Finally got around to ordering/buying thru lift supports depot and was told by staff person that they carry both the brand used as OEM in our truck and their house brand. She said both cost about same within few dollars and that their house brand is actually rated stronger with life time...

My 2010 TE"s (with almost 82,000 miles) rear liftgate struts has crapped out without any warning! Thanks to SocalTrail for replacement info and savings!

Thanks for your comments. As I re-read my post, I realize my comment was stupid. I would never replace the battery based just on the gauge reading. It only gives a general warning of impending battery problem, esp if it reads or flucuates back and forth below 12V?

Purchased my 2010 TE back in March 2010, now with 79,600+ miles and original battery still good as new probably because I'm in California, even though this year has been one of the hottest years for our area with temp up to the high 90's since I moved to this part of California 5 years ago...

My 2010 TE came with it; like everyone said comes in handy;BUT I don't think I like it enuf to pay that price for one!

Landcruiser nailed it as why NOT to get one even BEFORE one should consider exchanging one for a 4Runner! IMO the FJ in stock form LOOKs more effeminate and too "cute" to be a man's truck! I even think our 5th gen 4Runner also LOOKS "weak" in comparison to the previous 4Runner generations!

I have kept my 2010 TE now with almost 72K miles, stock meaning no changes from factory specs/parts as in no larger wheel/tire sizes, no lift, no suspension upgrades etc.; because it is more than adequate for my 5% "off road" driving on gravel, forest, dirt, and snow on paved roads vs. 95%...
