Thanks!!.. that's good to know as I close in on making a decision on a battery upgrade. I'd prefer to keep the stock size for the battery tray and not bother with bending the cables to fit a larger battery if a group 24F deep cycle like your NorthStar will be more than sufficient. Cheers!

Intruder's build and off road pics thread

I gather you've been running your NorthStar battery for the better part of a year now... just curious to know if you're still happy with your choice. I've seen some recommendations for deep cycle batteries in a group 31 size... was that ever a consideration or are you quite content with the 24F?

    Bud Built Hidden Winch Regrets?

That battery upgrade is on my 'to do list', and having seen yours on your build/pics thread, have been meaning to ask one of these days if you had to modify your battery leads/connections or anything to make it fit. ??

Well that's disappointing to hear (that the TJM is toast). I hope you're new Warn winch serves you well for much longer than the TJM held up.

Well I'm curious to hear what Nathan finds out from TJM. Is it toast or is working again after "a rest"? Does it continue spooling as you described with both the wired and wireless remotes? According to TJM (1/4 way down this page: TJM Stealth Winch) their winches "most importantly are designed...

Always enjoy your pics and accompanying details! Glad to hear you didn't have to cut your winch line, but curious about your winch burning out (having just installed the same winch).

    Slider Treadplating?

Just had mine installed a few weeks ago... got the regular bump out with full tread plating and powder coating to replace the stock running boards. I wanted the full tread plating to help protect the doors from rock chips and to make a good step for the kids, and for me to access the roof rack...

2011 te Just back from a weekend ski trip in Jasper... Just finished the upgrades last week; Bumped the front Bilsteins up to 2.5 while installing some LR UCAs, replaced the running boards with Budbuilt sliders, and installed the hidden winch.

    BudBuilt sliders rusting and new!

With new BB bumpout sliders (full tread / powder coated) going on tomorrow, I've taken some advice from this thread (good timing!) and run black silicone around the treadplate seam followed by the spray on Rust-oleum suggested here. We'll see how that holds up to the salt on these winter roads...

    Nut & Bolt size question

Thanks! Thank you gentlemen for your speedy feedback! That's perfect and much appreciated!! A buddy is making up a bracket for me to install there to mount the upcoming winch control box. I'll try to post pics once its done.

    Nut & Bolt size question

For anyone who has used this space under the hood (behind the passenger side headlight), I'm seeking some info regarding the appropriate size of bolt to match the existing nuts built into this plate in the engine compartment (photo attached)... While I had the truck in for service the other...

    BudBuilt sliders rusting and new!

How are yours holding up? I've got a set that will be installed very soon... this thread has me wondering if I should be taking extra steps to minimize rust before installation.
