    4th Gen vs 5th Gen

Here's a hypothetical question that I realize calls for some subjectivity, but: I have a 2013 SR5 that I'm really happy with. Good tires and a Bilstein adjusted ride, but I've otherwise slowed my build. It has about 88k miles and no issues. There is a 2008 V8 limited in my family with about...

    2013 Headlight aiming head-scratch

tl;dr - Is it possible that my headlights were aimed 1ft+ too low? I hate to start a thread on this, because it's been discussed so thoroughly in the past, but the alternative was to wake up a years-old zombie thread and I have a specific question for people here with more experience than me...

    Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S

Love mine on-road and off. Highway, fireroads, snow. Really happy with these tires and have a hard time imaging trying something different when it's time unless Cooper makes an ill-advised change. Stock size, tiny lift & level for me.

    Post your Pups!

I love dog threads! Jilly and I just got back form a week in the mountains. I didn't get her photo in my 4Runner, but I took this one on at a stop.

    Slow Climb to Evergreen Lookout

Spent the day working up a fireroad in the Cascades to about 3,600 ft. The roads were dry and in great shape, so it wasn't too much work. It will take a lot more to get all of the dust out of my rig, because I had to go windows down, roof open for a lot of it. Totally worth it for the views.

Yep, my experience and observation too. I can control it, but it doesn't seem ideal. My original post was intended to get an idea of whether it was the tires that came on it or if it was characteristic of the vehicle. My conclusion is that both were a factor, but as of this morning I can...

Right. The thing is, I got my driver's license originally in 1982, though I had been driving ranch trucks and tractors for years before then. My first automatic transmission was 1999. There is a 4th Generation 4Runner in my family that I've driven a fair bit, but my 2013 is the first one that...

Not sure where in Seattle you are, but I'll come up Dravus today and see what happens. I've never done so in this vehicle, in this weather without spinning, (but have never had it happen in any other car). If it doesn't happen today, then the tires are the difference.

Follow up on this issue. I replaced the tires today. The post above was my only fishtail, but I was spinning the tires regularly from a stop. The streets are wet here in Seattle and I live on top of a giant hill, probably 500 vertical feet of gain over a 1/4 mile. Virtually every time I started...

    2013 SR5 High Beams

I've been "studying" myself blind trying to plan an exterior lighting upgrade for my 2013 SR5. I *THINK* that I have concluded that an LED upgrade to the High Beams should just drop in for me, without the DRL/Flicker issue addressed by the XenonDepot CANbus. It took me a while to realize that...

    What Camera Do You Shoot?

Late to this thread, but Pentax! My dSLR is a K5ii, which is a few models back and still a great camera. I'm sort of ready for a body upgrade, but I want to see what they release this year before I go. No temptation *ZERO* to switch brands. I also (currently) have 4 Pentax Film SLRs. My go-to...

We're accepting applications, but the background check process is pretty exhaustive.

Yokohama YK-HTK I assume that since 2013 that the stock Dunlops wore out and were replaced by these, so ... 1-2 years old, I guess. Lots of tread, so visible signs of wear.

I fishtailed my 2013 SR5 this weekend. We hadn't had rain in a while and got enough to make the streets wet, which I know is the slickest time, but from a stop light, turning left in the intersection, the back end slid out on me (accidentally). I live on a hill and was able to spin the rear...
