    Exhaust manifold leak/tick

Damn, it looks like I am another victim of the cracked right manifold on my 2004 4Runner V8. I have just over 84K on it and started hearing the exhaust leak tick a few weeks ago. I took it to the dealer today and they confirmed the right manifold is cracked. I opened a claim with Toyota...

Tearing Clutch Pedal Pivot Mounting Plate

Thanks guys. Nice to confirm a plan. :-) Plan to pull it and add a plate to the weak area later this week. Hopefully won't have to see this one again.

Tearing Clutch Pedal Pivot Mounting Plate

My son is still driving my older 90 4Runner. The mounting plate in the inside firewall for the clutch pedal pivot is failing again. The design is flawed and the metal plate tears on the left side until it fails and you can't actuate the clutch anymore. I replaced this plate at about 100K and...

Wanting to Install a 3" ToyoTec Lift QUESTION

You can check with Slee Offroad in Colorado to help select the specific spring rate for your needs and rig. Ben at Slee has a ton of experience setting up suspension on Toyotas. .:biggrin2: For the 4th Gen 4Runners, 884 springs are soft, 885 are medium, and 886 are very heavy and only used...

Wanting to Install a 3" ToyoTec Lift QUESTION

Yeah, double check with a 3rd Gen guy to be sure. I have read that diff drops are needed with 3" lifts on the 3rd Gen 4Runners. Even so...check out the OME springs and shocks, they are nice for off roading. :)

Wanting to Install a 3" ToyoTec Lift QUESTION

What year 4Runner do you have? If it's a 4th Gen, you don't need the diff drop kit. I have a 3" OME lift on my 2004 and love it. No other mods required. As I understand it, if your is a 3rd Gen then you may need the diff drop kit. If you are going for 3" lift then check out the OME lift...

    air bags installed but ?

True, but if they didn't cut off then I bet it would be obvious. If the bag looks flush with the top then they probably cut off the bump stop.

    air bags installed but ?

No, I didn't spray mine at all. They were quiet from the begining. I don't know if makes any difference but I also am running the OME suspension so I have OME rear springs, not the stock Toyota's. Take a look and be sure they cut the rubber bump stop (cone shaped) off at the last segment...

    air bags installed but ?

My guess is it may just be a break in thing that will go away when the bags settle in properly with the springs. Try pumping them up to 20lbs and then drop them back to 5lbs to be sure they are seated properly. If they still squeek then I would try spraying the contact points with a silicon...

    air bags installed but ?

What noise are you hearing?? Mine are quiet with no squeeks or other noise of any kind. I run mine down around 5lbs when not towing and at about 15lbs when towing. I hear no bag/spring related noises either way. Are yours the red Airlift bags or some other brand?

    Air Lift 1000 - any long-term reviews

I run the Airlit 1000 air bags inside my rear OME coils. I installed them to help when towing my King Kamper off road camping trailer which is about 2500lbs fully loaded. I have had them installed for few months now and have towed with them ofroad on two camping trips as well as daily driver...

    motorcycle carrier?

I run a 3" OME lift and I added Airlift 1000 air bags to give the added lift for pulling a trailer. I like it and it works great. Air them up for towing and air them down for daily driving with no added weight. :bigok:
