Not on the 4R yet, but I had all four on my Tundra replaced under warranty. Two of them have crapped out since and I've replaced the motors for six bucks/ea. (and I have two more motors sitting on the shelf just waiting). First one took me about 45 minutes. Second one about half that.
I have to agree as well, awesome job. Especially that second video. It felt like I was watching an intro into one of those MacGillivray Freeman productions. Keep up the great work.
As much as I'd like for it to be that simple, they are definitely in the threaded holes. Interesting that your bars have a different profile. I don't thing that has anything to do with it though since some of them are flush. The rear 1x2 bar and the two bars at the front of the rack are...
Here's a couple bad pictures. One of the tape and one of the cross bars. The cross bars sit above the side rail when pushed down as far as they will go.
Yeah, I know better... I actually put the rack together on the ground. Fairing went on easy without any grinding like you had to do.
Yes, mine did come with the clear vinyl tape. Haven't put in on yet though. I was just getting ready to when I discovered the spacers were too tall.
Do...
Maybe the THIRD time will be a charm for me with this install. 1st time I unpacked the rack and luckily noticed that the aluminum spacers had been left out of the parts bag before I pulled the factory bars off. No big deal, contacted them and they sent out the spacers. Went out this morning...
Thanks for all the pictures. I've been going round and round about whether to go the silicone route like you did vs butyl tape and thread-locker on the OEM bolts. Game time decision I guess. Hopefully I'll get the install done this weekend.
Their slider is the rectangular tube that sits below the rocker panel. The super slider adds the round tube that sticks out past the rocker. I'd call it more of a mini step... You can stand on it with your toes, but it's not a full step like a lot of the other sliders available. Personally...
Threw on the Rocky Road super sliders that showed up yesterday. Super easy, 30 minutes tops, including the un-boxing.
The plan was to also put on the SSO rack that I received earlier this week. Unfortunately they forgot to put the aluminum spacers in the shipment, so that was a no-go. I'll...
They broke the rear latch on my sequoia. Not even sure it was entirely their fault as they're notorious for breaking, so I was probably on borrowed time with it anyway. They opened an insurance claim with their adjuster. I sent him the repair quote from my local Toyota dealer and they cut me...
