oil wicking up my o2 sensor wire harness?

AuSeeker I know it's not the number 6 issue for all 4th gen owners. Just like the #1 issue listed, isn't the top issue for 4th gen. I was mearly calling out the number associated with our issue on that page for those checking it out. To me – it helps to know there are more and more people...

oil wicking up my o2 sensor wire harness?

The fix that the dealer ship told me was to replace the internal wiring harness for the transmission. (dropping pan, and who knows what other little parts) they also wanted to change the ECU, but i would hope the new wiring harness would fix it. I don't know of a superceded part number...

oil wicking up my o2 sensor wire harness?

for me, the hardest part was unplugging them. :) make sure you use a 02 socket, and since its going to be replaced… look at some PB blaster a day or 2 before you tackle it. also make sure you use anti-seize on the new ones. (most come with it preplaced on the threads.) I've replaced all the...

oil wicking up my o2 sensor wire harness?

do all your lights stay on? If I don't do the zero point recalibration, I can clear the engine lights, but not the VSC lights. - from what I read, this is because I have an early model year with slightly different OBD initialization. I figure anything over 100,000 has seen better days (02...

oil wicking up my o2 sensor wire harness?

hmm, if thats the case, it sounds like a routine maintence of cleanign the ECU plugs might be the best bet (considering it only takes about 15 minutes to do. maybe a thin sponge or paper towel in the plug at the ECU to "soak" up the fluid.?

long over due update sorry this is so delayed. (I didn't realize you guys had kept this alive until I got an email update about a PM this morning) This has to be one of the oddest things I've encountered in my time wrenching. I've been fighting this with no good solution. Typically my CEL...

    TSB update causing bad idle?

The idle does seem to be getting better. I'll redo a MAF cleaning. in regards to the CEL. I had p0136 p2238 Reset the codes and waited for them to be triggered again and got P2238 O2 Sensor Positive Current Control Circuit Low - Bank 1 Sensor 1 P0171 CEL code (bank 1 too lean) P2195 =...

    TSB update causing bad idle?

I've got a few things I'm trying to work out. (maybe you've seen my other thread) But the dealership did an ECM reflash for a safety TSB (where you push the brake and gas to make the engine decelerate, incase of an issue like GM) since I've got it back it has a noticeably rougher idle. Is...

BlackWorksInc how do the european models fix the issue? if its capillary action, shouldn't a splice in the offending wire stop it? here are a few more pics of the passenger side O2 sensors lower this plug was next to the lower passenger O2 and appeared to be completely dry. Upper O2

oil wicking up my o2 sensor wire harness?

I cleaned up the connectors as best I could. and will keep an eye on them. I had Adv. Auto reset the CEL and read the codes P0136 P2238 (both 02 sensors on bank1) I've been dealing with the rear parking brake show assembly at the moment, so I haven't had a chance to look that deep into the...

oil wicking up my o2 sensor wire harness?

these pictures are from inside the cabin. under the glove box. both the ABS module (smaller looking ECM) and the main ECM. I appears to be an oil/ATF type of liquid as mentioned by the dealership  is removing the ECM simple? it looks tucked up there pretty tight.

oil wicking up my o2 sensor wire harness?

Well i had a short call today with just my service contact. Basically they refunded the money for the first 02 sensor, and I took the car home. (I didn't want to pay $2,500 for a new wire harness/ECM) This is what my report said: Engine light cam back on P0136 and P0171. B1S2 malfunction and...

oil wicking up my o2 sensor wire harness?

had a short call today with the dealer. Im slated to have another call with tomorrow with: the service manager the tech who's been working on the car my service contact This was at their request. At this point I just want the car back, as I feel I can do a better job of working through the...

oil wicking up my o2 sensor wire harness?

I agree Gshadow, having the dealer change an 02 sensor isn't the most cost effective. I was hoping they would know something I didn't, as I've been chasing this issue for a while. The "fluid" is a new variable I hadn't seen yet. but here's a basic run down of the car history concerning this...
