Im Getting a R&P Installed need advice

I don't have any experience with that shop. I would ask him to document all of the specs for the gear instal for you, like bearing preload, shim sizes, etc. And as for gears, I wouldnt go any lower than 4.56. My 4cyl Runner has 33s with 4.30 gears, which I like because I can still cruise at 80...

Where to buy rear sway bar & end link bushings

I plan on buying the sway bar bushing kit that Wheeler's Offroad has for the front, but they don't have a kit for the rear. Where can I find a rear sway bar bushing kit? Pretty sure the bar is 19mm. Are the end link bushings the same as the front?

    Lowered 4runner

How low were you lookin' at going? That 4Runner in the pic that you posted looks like crap if you ask me. I think a 4Runner lowered about 2" F/R would look pretty good, especially with some nice 18" wheels or so... They gotta be flush with the fender lip though (not sunken in... yuck). Would...

Ya that sounds pretty good. Just make sure they are the spacers that go in-between the strut and the coil (pre-load), not the spacers that just go on top of the whole strut assembly. Believe me, you will save lots of trouble down the road by doing this. The top-spacers and lots of stress to the...

Bigger tires and wider wheels!... and that would be a clean truck. But don't go to high on the lift now... I can't stand the look of all these "ass-high" lifted Runners.

Well my original rims were 15"s so I didn't really have a choice but to get some new ones (I picked up the tires used for $250). The Wheeler's Offroad ones are just what I was looking for.... Black, 16" and an inch wider than stock. The tires probably wouldn't fit to great without the little...

    3rd Gen T4R Picture Gallery

Here is my 1998 2WD 4Runner. Just got the new wheels/tires on it yesterday. Stock rear lift, 3/8" spacer in the front (lifted it about 5/8") 16x8 wheels (from Wheeler's Offroad) 285/75R16 Toyo All-Terrain tires (32.8" height) I also put in a 4.30:1 rear third member out of an older V6...

How much did you pay for your 3rd gen?

1998, 2WD, 3RZ (4cyl), 5spd... Flawless paint, some dents in the bumpers and 193,000 miles for $3500. It's my third Toyota with an 'RZ engine and I love it. I don't worry for a minute about it giving me any mechanical trouble.
