That did not sound good at all. Sounds like timing but I heard what sounded like valves hitting a piston when you first started it up or maybe something inside a cylinder. I wouldn't run it any more until I rechecked the timing on the belt plus I would co a compression check also.

Not to mention I did the exact thing on a 85 4x4 farm feed truck with a 3vze that blew a had gasket over a year ago with the above product and its still running and idles most of its life. Owner said don't fix it crush it. Farm hand went and bought above product and I did put it in and it still...

A grand to fix it right or 35 to fix it on the cheap. If its been hot enough to get rid of a head gasket then it needs a complete over haul. Putting new head gaskets on a motor that's been hot enough to blow a gasket will for certain use oil. Been a mechanic for 30 years and I know what happens...

My 95 does that from time to time. I have looked over ever area of my evap also. Its like it goes into purge mode or something but I cant find it.

By Pass hose. Look at the center of the intake next to fire wall. Look down and you will see a U shaped hose. Just bought on from Toyota this morning for my 95 2 wd runner. Its going to be a tough job to do as im not taking off the intake top.

csrobb007 what did you cap the end of the upper hard plastic tube with after you turned it 90 degrees? Also the rubber line going to the drivers side valve cover what did you do with it also?

Thank you Vegas4Runner. Just went and washed the engine compartment. I dislike working on anything dirty. I was wondering about the adjustment procedure and you answered that for myself. Im using Dayco brand belts because I have always had great success with them.
