Rear Diff Breather Mod For 2nd Gen

I found few threads that mentioned NPT but I always thought it was BSP, so that might be correct. Somehow I have the feeling I bought 1/8" BSP. But being 10 years... well, memory isn't perfect. It would also sound logical for it to be BSP since the hydraulics in toyota are BSP if I recall...

Rear Diff Breather Mod For 2nd Gen

IIRC, it's just a normal 1/8" NPT with 90° Angle. I could be wrong on the threading though, it's almost 10 years since I did this the last time. But google seems to verify this. Note: IF you bother doing a breather mod, do your self a favour and have the hoses long enough to reach into the car...

    April 2008 T4ROTM - Ulfr

I guess it's time to revive this thread once more. Undanfari II is under a complete overhaul at the moment after lying in my shop for few years. Mostly working on the rear end of the body for the moment, preparing it for the larger tires.

In a way yes. I fixed the damage from the collision and got it running, but it's not in it's best shape to be honest. Work and other time consuming projects have made a huge cut on time available for the truck, however, it'll be going in for some rebuild in the following weeks...

Well well... Time to resurrect this thread once more. Went on a trip to a mountain hut called Setrið at the first weekend of December... and well, it was the end of Undanfari II as we know it. A small river was in the way and doin' 60km/h was not the best speed to hit it at.. (Sorry no pictures...

    what winch would you recommend?

I just had a thought; What if the control is wired via the ignition on the truck or something like that, and one of the relay is broken, then it would shorten the ignition and cause the truck not to start. If the motor would short to ground or something like that it'd probably cause the battery...

turn signal with aftermarket bumper ?

I've used LED lamps of some type. I don't remember the exact brand but I just cut of the connectors and just used crimp connectors for mine, not the most fanciest but I don't plan to take the front bumper off many times a year... But my front bumper is not quite, the average. Just remember that...

    what winch would you recommend?

That's weird... I have had a few warn winches for repair throughout the past, usually they are just filled with rust and dirt and have become stuck. I'd start taking measuring all the coils, measure the motor with an ohm meter and just take it apart. There are good schematics on the internet...

Oil Leak in rear wheel Toyota 4 Runner

If you have a leaky seal, be sure to check if the breather plug on the axle is working. I've had issues with few of my 4runners that if the breather was not working my axle seals were leaking all the time. Good luck with the repair!

Very nice. The forecast for next weekend looks pretty good, I believe that it will be an epic trip to Setur!

    Post up the UGLIEST 4Runners!

Such a waste for those fender flares, it should be lifted and get some 46s!

Not the most difficult river crossing I've done, but one of the few that have any photographers on the other side... Photos taken by Hrannar Emil.
