Yes, powertrain warranty applies. However, Toyota told me it would still be fixed since it was a known issue on that TSB even outside of warranty. But, i'm not really sure I trust that.
My noise started off faint, then within a year got worse.
So I got my truck back this past Friday. They replaced the needle bearing and the truck runs fine in cold weather. The past week we had temps as low as 5 degrees.
Fingers crossed.
Yeah, I actually had the TSB printed out when I went to them. if they were to fight me I was just going to use that piece you mentioned and do the install. I saw that in one of the gen4 post.
I wonder what percentage of people actually get this issue.
