My 2.7 4cyl with 5spd trans is getting about 15 mpg. Is something wrong or are the gears just steeper than the V8.

I would actually be willing to go into debt for a NEW car if we could get it. I am currently spending $140 a week in gasoline for my gen3. It is sad to think that my 7000 lbs 1ton Dodge with auto trans gets better fuel economy than my 4cyl 5spd 4Runner.

Has anyone used the roof rack on a 3rd gen? Is it sturdy enough for anything substantial? How well does the roof handle being loaded?

Is the factory tow hook on the right side under the bumper sufficient, on should I invest in something else?

My 2000 4cyl 5pd 2wd is averaging about 15 mpg. I do mostly city driving and I am wondering if this is about average. Maintence is current, but I do have 134K miles. If it maters, I am on the original clutch but I am sure it is not slipping yet.

Thanks Yeah, we have plenty of dealers here in Houston. I guess what I am looking for is an aftermarket, possible with a winch since I do not have 4wd. Has any one installed an aftermarket, and what results or suggestions do you have?

Just picked up a 2000 base model with 132,000 miles. Truck appears to be in excelent shape with exception of a nasty dent in chrome portion of front bumper, the plastic portion appears to be okay. It's a beautiful ride and I just can't stand this blemmish. I would like to find a replacement...
