Put in the Desert Does It fire extinguisher mount since I already had their seat jackers. I was worried the footwell might feel cramped with it mounted there, but my feet haven't touched it once and I don't even notice it's there anymore.
After that...
Yeah it appears to be a legit part and seller so I just decided to go for it. I just can't bring myself to spend $1,100+ for the same part here in the US. For that price or if this doesn't work out I'd rather just do the FJ case swap.
For sure! I agree with that 100% which is why I'm hesitant, but the eBay retailers I'm talking about are listing them as Brand New "Genuine Toyota" parts. Below is a link to one of them... While I realize boxes and labels can be faked, it does "appear" to be an authentic OEM part. Some of the...
Well this thread was revived at the perfect time lol. I'm in the exact same situation as the OP.
I went camping/wheeling last weekend and crossed a couple deep water crossings. On the way home my 4Lo light started flashing and beeping, and then the check engine light and VSC lights came on...
I'm currently having the same issue... From my quick research so far it seems most people say to replace the brake switch located behind the brake pedal. The part # for the switch looks to be "84340-69025", but please also do your own research to make sure as I'm not 100% this is the fix yet...

Great write up and information! I've been wanting to put shorties on mine (I'm also in CA), but I only ever see info on long tubes. Thanks for taking the time to document/share this
Went with a slightly different variation of the overhead sunglass location mount. I decided on this location as opposed to the center console so that things wouldn't be turned on by accident (I've dropped something in that exact location twice before accidentally triggering the downhill assist...
I also wanted my dual ARB mounted vertically between the air box and firewall. Unfortunately I had no luck finding an existing mount on the market for that, so my friend and I came up with this custom mount.
Yeah I can't blame ProClip as the 4th gen dash doesn't give these companies much space to work with for mounts, but I think this one is done in a better way.
Upgraded/organized my accessory wiring to clean up the engine bay and get rid of the multiple harnesses going through the firewall. Went with the PowerTrays mount and Switch-Pros controller which made things easy.
Decided to go with a stealth placement of the panel in the overhead sunglass...
