Frozen Rotors & Hawk Brake Pads

Sorry about the late reply.... Because of the terrible weather we've been having in the Chicago area, I have not yet had a chance to install the pads yet. So I don't know if they are the right ones. :( Once it warms up, I will take things apart and keep you guys updated.

Cladding Revisited -- 3+ Yrs Later

Good to see that the grey cladding still got some love. :) That's strange. My car has always been parked on the driveway since the day I bought it and the plastic cladding still looks like new (except for few scratches). Sorry to hear that yours went bad. :( Any photos you can show us?

I was pleasantly surprised with the V8 gas mileage

Or tell her that there are several mouses running around in the garage, she would gladly offer up her garage space. :D

I was pleasantly surprised with the V8 gas mileage

Oh yes thanks for pointing that out.... My remote start costs me quite a bit of gas too. :p Wish I had a garage space so I don't need to run the engine that long in winter days. But garage spaces were taken up by the wife's car and my race car. I need a 3+car garage house.

I was pleasantly surprised with the V8 gas mileage

Just curious, how do you guys keep track of the MPG? Do you reset the MPG info every time you fill the gas tank? I have kept record of the miles and gas consumed for every single gas stop I made since I got the car new in 2003. I have been getting 15mpg mostly city driving, and about 12 mpg for...

Cladding Revisited -- 3+ Yrs Later

This topic came up quite often when the color-keyed cladding first came out at end of '03 to replace the grey plastic cladding on the SE and SR5. Some people loved it this way, some people loved it the other way. Now 3+ years later, with more and more 4th gen on the road with 90% of them being...

Frozen Rotors & Hawk Brake Pads

Got my brake pads today. :) For those who had replaced their pads before, could you please verify if the part number should be 04465-35290? I have a 03 V8 Sport 4wd (17" wheel). I would like to find out if it is correct before I start taking things apart. Sometimes I just can't trust their...

Frozen Rotors & Hawk Brake Pads

Re: Re: Frozen Rotors & Hawk Brake Pads Guess I would keep everyone updated. I got in touch with Partznet. They were apologetic about the mistake and the responses have been prompt. Even though they have caused me some inconvenience, I still really appreciate their willingness to correct the...

I'm going to be using my runner in snow for first time, TIPS?

It can be induced most easily when you are rolling at a very slow speed (like 5-10mph), turn the steering wheel, then press the gas semi-hard. With the center diff unlock and VSC on, the tail will kick out but as soon as it does that, the icon will blink, you will hear the beep and the engine...

I'm going to be using my runner in snow for first time, TIPS?

Sorry I can't totally agree with this.... :( I can duplicate the oversteering scenario at will (with center diff unlock) during acceleration when the pavement has about 1/2" to 1" of snow/ice mixture. When it happens, the "slippery" icon would blink, and there's a beeping sound indicating that...

I'm going to be using my runner in snow for first time, TIPS?

Sorry I should have made it a little bit more clear. I never lock my center diff.... I live in a metro area with all paved roads and the roads are plowed quite quickly. But lot of times the road surfaces are still very slick. And when that's the case, without the center diff locked, the back...

I'm going to be using my runner in snow for first time, TIPS?

I also want to point out that the 4WD system is rear bias, so when you hit the gas in middle of turn, and road surface is slick, BE GENTLE! Or your car will fishtail. If it's slow enough, it can be corrected thru countersteering. It's actually kinda fun. But be very careful when you are going...

HIDs, anywhere else other than XenonDepot ?

For the Integra as an example, the labor for the retrofit was ~$300. It includes retrofitting the projectors, aligning them, installing the shroud, and wet-sanding and buffing the lenses to make them look like brand new. They also painted the housing with the color I want (gunmetal). Then since...

Frozen Rotors & Hawk Brake Pads

Got my part today and it's not only the wrong part, it's a totally wrong item!! They sent me a set of plug wires (wrapped in a box originally for oil filters) that are supposed to go to TX (I'm in IL). :bash: :bash: About a year and half ago, I bought the right rear bumper cover from...
