Why lock the steering wheel when replacing rack bushings?

I did my steering rack bushings a while back and forgot to lock the steering wheel and when I was finished the steering wheel was off center about an inch and a half to the left. When I asked the mechanic about it he said " did you forget to lock the steering wheel? Ha!

Rear Diff lock light flashing slowly...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was no rear diff-lock available after 1999. Is this the center diff you're talking about?

Best way to disable deceased antenna motor.

You can pull the antenna relay. That should cut power to the antenna. It's under the dash.

Looks like a nice T4R3G in Tucson with low miles

Front end looks a little wonky to me too. Funny there's no mention of it in the ad. Buyer beware on this one.

DIY Auto Mechanics Can Save You BIG Money

I started wrenching when I was a teenager back in 1981. Everyone one of my siblings had a Volkswagen beetle or two except for my father who was a die-hard "American car" only guy. While the fob you have pictured has the right FCC number, the right fob doesn't have the panic button in back and the two front buttons are not lock and unlock. The right fob should have only two buttons on the front and neither one of them have anything printed on them just like Street creepers...

    Rear shock, upper bushings?

If you search energy suspension or whiteline, those are two good brands that come with the bushings only and no hardware. Or you can order OEM from toyotapartsdeal.com or somewhere online cheap. I bought some energy suspension bushings recently for the rear shocks and they were $11.99 plus$6.99...

    Rear shock, upper bushings?

I'm seeing the upper and lower bushings in the picture. those two bigger bushings in the upper part of the picture are for the bottom I believe. Everything else is for the upper shock.

    Possible Starter Issue

Sounds about right. I'm guessing you have a 3rd gen 4Runner? Worn Starter contacts work intermittently and eventually it won't start at all.
