the computer will cut the engine power as well as apply the rear brakes(or all 4 if you are in 4wd) in attempt to regain traction. it will only beap at you if you are not traveling the intended path based on stering angle(ie. fish tailing) if you dont like it their is a simple mod that turns it...

i have an auto and its great off road. in low range, it does not shift into neutral when you let off the gas, but the tourque converter still slips some. i plan on doing a manual t/c lockup button to use kind of like a clutch. that will realy help whengoing down steep sections of a trail.

that could be just the operation of the power brake motor. turn your truck on without cranking the engine, step on and relese the brake pedal a couple of times and see if you hear the same noise. if so then what you are hearing is normal
