Is this a Real thing? I called my parts guy to get a water pump, assuming that’s what had gone out, he says this engine is notorious for the water pump “stand” going out first or instead of. I can’t find any information anywhere about this thing. Help?

Ok serious newbie here... I've got a big coolant /water leak underneath that when radiator cap is removed to it becomes a gushing/pouring leak. Hose? Why would cap effect leak if it is indeed a loose or damaged hose?
