Purchased 2012 Limited Today! Problems Already:(

Is the shifter feeling light and smooth to operate? I don't drive the vehicle very often (wife's daily driver). My wife recently had several instances of the 4LO flashing, but the indications cleared when she selected 4HI and 4LO a few times. This most recent time, she also got the check...

How to remove rear cargo panels; 2011 LTD with 3rd seat

Thanks guys. Very helpful. I'll take another crack at it. And from now on, no race engines in the back. Seriously, if I had the shop manual, AND it covered this, I wouldn't be asking.

How to remove rear cargo panels; 2011 LTD with 3rd seat

I spilled about 1/2qt of engine oil into the carpet of the rear-most cargo panel, behind the 3rd row seating in a 2011 LTD. I would welcome any advice on how to remove that panel set so I can do some "deep cleaning". The panels I want out are the 2 that hinge up behind each of the two 3rd...

Yet another reason why I bought the 4Runner

Only 330,000 of these vehicles have deadly flaws. That's fewer than normal for a Chrysler recall.

Is a 4Runner the right vehicle for me?

It sounds like a Highlander should be in your future. I didn't see anything in your description that would cause you to favour the 4Runner.

Ah, the joys of dealer, uh, I mean stealerships

In Canada, a lender can transfer your debt to someone else without your approval. I expect it's the same there. But that's not what happened here. You and the dealer had an agreement to use a particular lender, and the dealer failed to honour that commitment, instead choosing their own...

    Sold it after 6 months

I'm late seeing this thread, so I had the luxury of reading it all at once. My observation; Those who think of their 4Runners as "trucks" seem perfectly happy with the on-road handling. Those who think their 4Runners are "cars" feel they don't handle well enough on the pavement. I bought the...

Rust bleeding through paint on rear hatch

Follow-up to the follow-up... I went back into the dealership last Friday. As I drove in, the service manager ran out and greeted me by name before I had even closed the driver's door. He said he'd already talked to the bodyshop and they knew what had gone wrong. According to him there are a...

The Father Teaching his Daughter a lesson, Reactions?

Her actions (if she truly did what Dad reported) show that he has been a $hitty parent for 14 or more years. Dad's actions now show that he continues to be a useless parent and a bad example to others. Together, they wasted too much of my life and too much of the interweb's bandwidth.

Rust bleeding through paint on rear hatch

Follow up - The dealer's body shop is out of service while they undergo a large expansion. They farmed the work out. They did a truly $hitty job and I haven't been this angry in a long time. The rear hatch is painted; it's white, but it's not Blizzard Pearl white. They left the hatch open...
