I know it's not what you're askin' for, Lizard, but here's a pic of emblems given several light coats of Krylon matte black and then a clear finish. Didn't take long. Didn't need to do any sanding, with the bonding properties of Krylon. FWIW. :yo:

Pretty cool the dash cam caught the rock clearly - and that they ponied up. Know what you mean about the pitting. Mine was a Jersey vehicle all it's life until comin' here in November... The fine haze of pitting from road sand/salt is so bad throughout the windshield that it's hard to see...
