HID stands for High Intensity Discharge. No need to add switch for the HID light kit. Cause they just replace your stock headlight bulbs. Hope can answer your question (cause I'm not an expert about it). Maybe other members here can tell you more detail. Anyway if you want to get a set of HID...

The HID kit are easy too just plug and play. They come with pre-terminated wiring harness and plug connectors. So take me about an hour to stall. And most of time I just spent on find the place to mount the ballasts.
