Retaining steering wheel controls in 5th Gen T4R with Parrot Asteroid Smart stereo

I'm also considering a Parrot Asteroid for a 2011 Trail. Has anyone had any luck getting steering wheel controls to work?

WTB: 3rd Gen Rear Bumper w/ Tire Carrier

Short story: Looking for a rear bumper with tire carrier for my 2001 SR5 (w/o flares). Long story: Just got a quote on a CBI and whoa buddy they are expensive! So, I'm trying to see what all is out there used and save up for gears. Right now having a full-size spare is priority, so if there's...

    Ideal Rear Bumper (features/options)

It appears Outdoor Logic has currently paused development of that bumper. There is speculation that they have a piece of equipment down (see discussion on the last page of that thread). It does look badass though.

Outdoor Logic 3rd Gen Rear Plate Bumper spy thread

That link has a banner at the top that reads: "This is a demo store for testing purposes — no orders shall be fulfilled." The official site outdoorlogic.net says: "1996-2002 There are no available products under this category."

    Hello from Raleigh

New to the forum although I've lurked for a couple years. I'm driving a 2001 SR5 that I've owned since I was a senior in high school in 2005. My friends and family refer to her as the Red Terror. Together we've been through 200,000 miles, 5 girlfriends, 3 CV's, a shredded differential, and a...

    2001 lift help

I see you're in Wilmington. If you don't do the lift yourself, check out Down East Off Road in Wilson. AVOID TRUCKER'S TOY STORE (ALL LOCATIONS). They have AWFUL customer service. My buddy had much better luck at Down East, said they were really friendly and helpful.

    Ideal Rear Bumper (features/options)

All good advice guys. Thanks for the tips. I'll probably call CBI and Savage tomorrow and bounce some ideas off of them. Right now I'm leaning towards a CBI plate-style with tire carrier (hinge on the passenger side), hi-lift, gas can & license plate mounts, hitch receiver, and D-links. And...

taking mine on a 3k mile road trip on in 2 days

highway 12 down the coast of NC is a roadtrip worth taking just by itself, especially towards Hatteras and Ocrocoke Island. definitely out of the way, but worth it if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Front end shake between 60-79 mph

+1 I had the shakes on highways recently as well, Took it in to have it balanced/aligned and it turned out to be a slow leak in front passenger tire from a nail. If I had just checked the pressure, I could have saved a bit of dough.

    Bouncy T4R

My '01 is "bouncy" too, as in everything in the car including people bounce when I hit a stretch of bumps. The cause of mine is the fact that I bought "heavy duty" replacement coils to account for added weight of future armor. The problem is 4 years down the (bumpy) road, I still haven't added...

    Ideal Rear Bumper (features/options)

I'm looking to have a rear bumper/ spare carrier made in the near future. ARKRWLR has been very helpful at steering me towards a CBI custom setup. I live in central NC so I'm equidistant from rocks and mountains in the west and sand in the east so the ol' Red Terror can see a bit of diversity...
