A question about soldering the LEDs: how much heat is too much for these things?

As can be seen in the pictures, there is a a rubber seal recessed in the housing that contacts the outer cover. I am not sure where to get the new seal since these things are "unserviceable". If it were me, I would remove the cover, inspect, then put a light film of say K&N air filter sealing...

The rest of it is SUPER clean, I am stewing not being able to drive it and have to drive my '84 Yota P/U instead. I called my dealer here and they quoted me $1150 for a replacement actuator. In the mean time, I am looking at replacing interior lights with LED's.
