What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Wife's 4Runner. Mounted the new wheels and tires on Wednesday. Fifteen52 Turbomac HD in 17x8.5 et0 with 275/70 r17 BFG ko2s. Factory suspension still. Went for a Sunday drive with the family through Olympic National Park near High Steel Bridge.

vsc off vsc trac lights on, check engine light on

I cleared mine the first time it popped up. About 80 miles after the second time my CAT began rattling. It was completely junked from a leak in my Thorley headers. Could possibly be an O2 sensor though.

Need a new winch cable. Wire or synthetic?

Here's an article from Warn that I just found on the subject. https://www.warn.com/blog/2011/11/18/synthetic_rope_vs_steel_rope_which_one_is_best.shtml

Need a new winch cable. Wire or synthetic?

I don't have a winch on my 4runner yet. But I will speak from the experience of a rigger/longshoreman who works with wire and synthetic slings and cable on a daily basis. Synthetic is awesome. It's lighter, easier to work with, and strong. At the same time it can't take the beating wire can...

    HiD lights

Do not put HID's in your headlights without also doing a projector retrofit. You will blind oncoming drivers. I was driving in front of a Chevy pickup with drop in HID's on the way home last night. I had to pull over and let him pass because I couldn't focus on the road because he was blinding...

    Anyone try gaugepod A-pillar gauges?

Yep that's him! Mark's a pretty handy guy. I've known him for years through VW/Audi's. I made a trade with him and got his projector/hid retrofit headlights, hid fogs, clear corners and turns, led tails, led third brake light, and the steering column gauge pod.

    Anyone try gaugepod A-pillar gauges?

I got lucky. A friend of mine took a Podi steering column gauge pod for a b6 Audi a4 and molded it to the 4runner steering column. He then sold his runner and this was one of the things I got from him. Much cleaner than column pods in my opinion. Only thing hooked up in this photo was battery...

    3rd Gen T4R Picture Gallery

Went out exploring some in the Olympic National Forest on Sunday with a group of friends. This was a photo from a random spot we stopped at about half way up. Sorry for no good pics, I'm on crutches so once we get moving I don't get out of my runner.

Bought, not Built ;p 2000 'Runner

Nice! That'll look good. Do you know SKIDMRK from VWvortex or Audizine? He had a 3rd gen 4runner for a bit that he traded in, but I was lucky enough to get all the lights off of it. He made an LED third brake light to match the LED tails. Here's a photo of my old b6 a4 1.8t and before that my...

    hid question

I'm all for helping people.... But really, how many times does this question need to be asked? If you search "3rd gen 4runner HID" in Google it will bring up countless threads that answer this question. Please do not put those in your factory headlight housings without a projector retrofit...
