The zerks on the driveshafts are all standard size...the end that the grease gun fits on. With zerks, only the other end - the end that screws or is pressed into the part needing grease, can be different - different sizes, metric or SAE. But the grease gun end is always the same.

Every gas-powered vehicle I've owned has had the same problem. And its caused by not enough torque at the low rpm the engine is running at in overdrive to maintain the exact speed set on cruise. My diesels on the other hand, with maximum torque at 1400-1800 rpms, NEVER need to shift down.

???? Post a photo of the zerks on your differentials. I've NEVER seen zerks on a differential and have no idea, since the diffs are full of oil, why they would need grease zerks!

^This! Check out Consumer Reports tire reviews and they will show you ratings for "rolling resistance". One of the reasons I chose Michelin Defender LTX tires for my 4R was the low rolling resistance (consequently better fuel mileage). My overall fuel mileage over the past 28000 miles is 22.8 mpg.

My Jeep Wrangler (20 years old but very low miles) is running on Toyo Open Country Mud Terrain tires that are also 20 years old. The Toyos are in great shape - no cracking anywhere.

"Aggressive" tires are about the worst ones for snow. Looks at pics of Bridgestone Blizzak tires if you want to see what tires good in snow look like.

^This! Absolutely no need for a photo that will appear on an internet forum to be over 500 kb in size. And most cell phone photos are at least 3 megabytes. My camera's photos are around 20 megabytes. I downsize every photo that I post. Several apps out there to help you do that.

There are any number of Toyota dealers selling parts for a great price on line. When I bought my 4R I bought a case (10 each) of oil filters for $42.00, so $4.20 a filter, from a Toyota dealership. With tax the total came to $44.98. Shipping was free. That was almost three years ago now so...

And that's a bad thing? I've never been able to understand why anyone would choose "looks" over "functionality" in any product.

One of my first mods when I bought my 4R was to install Michelin Defender tires on it. Most of my driving is on dirt roads and the Defenders have handled them just fine for the past two years.

You can tow the Mercedes - but you'll have to remove the driveshaft so the tires aren't turning the transmission internals.

^This! I can always take an extra container or two of gas if I know I'm heading into a really remote area. Haven't figured out how to take any extra electricity along on those rides.
