I paid 39,700. One dealer told me the best they could do was -$500 under MSRP. I told them to save that for a sucker, walked out, and emailed 5 more dealers in the area with a note that said I was buying the next day. And I did, for $39,700. Don't sell yourself short.

Are you sure they're not jerking you around? That sounds pretty fishy. I was told 10-12 weeks at most by all the dealers I talked to.

I ordered mine on Jan 12 and I just picked up Saturday (March 7). But they were able to trade another dealer for it. It was still not built yet at the time of trading their allocation though. Perfect timing! I sold my 2001 4Runner Friday morning, not knowing exactly when the new TRD would come in. 1 hour later the dealer called me and said it was in. I'm on my way to pick it up!

That's a lot of time and money for something that's going to look fairly common unless you're right up on it. I'm sure it looks better in person though due to the matte finish. If I were going to do that, I would have gone for more impact like a pale yellow of electric grass green. But than...

Ha. I guess it was love. We grew up here and came back to be near family after living in LA for a decade. We were all over the deserts and mountains out there in our Jeeps. There's no camping and offloading like there is in the West.
