so my 87 w/22RE runner runs great for about 5-10 minutes, seems like as it begins to get warm, then boom it starts to stumble and dies. so,my dad let it get cold then started it up and as soon as the issue started he began giving it little carb cleaner shots and it keeps running great...

just had this issue, first we found the thermostat was stuck open. got better but still not hot. then found core was plugged. you could also have a heater box door issue

spent all day making a LONG laundry list of fix its on my new 87 4runner, and of course re-soldering many plugs that were falling apart
