Pulled my truck in the shop last week and I saw a huge rat sitting on my tire I went to shine a light on it and then it hopped in to my engine bay. Perfect. No electrical issue yet.
my 4 runner had this same sound and found that one of my spark plugs backed it self out causing this tap sound but i was lucky enough to not kill my heads because i drove it for some time so replaced the plugs and wires
