Literally just experienced this this past weekend. Instead of finding an elegant solution such as this, I made one hell of a mess of my front skid plate and just dropped the whole filter assembly. I'll have to give this a try next time, along with dropping the front skid to try and clean it...

I hadn't originally planned to build it this far in the eight months I've owned it...just came together quicker than I'd expected. I bought tires the first week after I got it, 32s, as I wasn't planning on the lift right away. Very soon after, I went for armor and did the skids and sliders...

Towing in the mountains would be a valid reason, especially if they manage to increase low-mid range torque sufficiently.

It's not ideal, but if you come across a link to PhotoBucket that isn't working, you can right click on it and then click Open Image In New Tab or similar. Not the open link, but open image. It works in Chrome anyway.

That correlates pretty well with another dyno plot I saw for this engine. Amazing how much torque these things have low down. Certainly makes driving in 2WD in the snow...fun. :lol:

I'll be driving down from Arvada the morning of the 19th. I plan to take the scenic route on 285 out of the Morrison area to Salida and then 50 to Montrose and down to Ouray. No clue on an actual time, but would be cool to get down early enough to play around on Yankee Boy or something.

I'll be doing the RTT thing, but managed to find a campground with showers.

Mine didn't save me from a ding near the front of the drivers door. Hope they got it worse from the slider, but don't think they did.
