    2012 Stuck in 4wd? Really?

Sounds like the e-brake is frozen in place (ice build-up?). This doesn't explain why she is unable to get it out of 4H and into 2H but may explain the resistance. Spending the night in a warm garage may help.

    Removing Map Light Bulbs...Help?

The easiest way, in my opinion, is to remove the two bolts (10mm?), drop the console, detach the electrical connector, twist/remove the bulb sockets, replace the bulbs, and put the console back in place. It takes less than a minute to complete and is the designed method for replacing the bulbs.

    New 5th gen... Big Mistake?

My opinion: if you're comfortable driving 120 km/h (75 mph) then you don't need 4wd engaged. 4wd only helps you accelerate (from a stop or while moving). 4wd does not help you stop and has marginal if any impact on steering at high speeds. And on slippery roads, stopping is the challenge...

    T-SB-0081-12 Headlamp Surface Oxidation

I had my headlights replaced a couple weeks ago (thanks Diver Deuce). Service mgr thought it would take 2 hrs to complete but actually took them 1.5 hrs. They were covered under warranty and the service dept had no incentive to overestimate their work requirement.

    20 inch wheels on LIMITED

Sure. I'm out of town but will post photos next week. The Conti's are about the same width as the OEM mudflaps. They would be wider on an 8" rim.

    20 inch wheels on LIMITED

Continental CrossContact LX20 I purchased these tires some time ago after researching possible alternatives for the stock tires. Consumer Reports rates these tires #1 in their Nov 2011 tire review (tied with the Michellin LTX M/S2 as the best overall SUV all-season tire). Tire Rack also rates...

Sudden braking problem (when not braking)

Sounds like your VSC sensor may need to be recalibrated due to your lift. An article on the process... http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/71093-yaw-rate-acceleration-sensor-zero-point-calibration.html Good luck.

    This deserves a separate thread-JD Power & Associates-Dependability Ratings

Good post. From the PDF... "Toyota Motor Corporation continues to perform well in long-term dependability and garners seven segment awards—more than any other automaker in 2011—for the Lexus RX, Scion xB, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Prius, Toyota Sienna, Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Tundra. Ford Motor...

Consumer Reports on 2010 4runner not that good?

The interesting point about the CR review is their reliability score. The 2010 4Runner rates as "excellent" in every category except two (body hardware and audio system; average for both). These ratings are even better than the previous 5 model years. And yet, they add those up and give it an...

    Exhaust tip install - tips?

I had mine thrown in as part of the package. The dealer installed it for me. But here's an older thread that shows it being installed: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/59964-exhaust-tip-installed.html Good luck.

5gen dashboard nice, but INVISIBLE behind Sunglasses

I use polarized Ray-Bans and have the same issue. Unfortunately, this problem is not limited to Toyota. Polarized lenses reduce visibility on nearly any electronic display. They're also not recommended for use by pilots... FAA: Polarized lenses are not recommended for use in the aviation...
