I still believe the V6 is a good engine, but I also had to replace my head gaskets after I discovered the failure. Toyota needs to know about this issue, because every dealer I talked to and even corporate denied the fact that the number of V6 head gasket issues are on the rise regardless of...
I brought it into my mechanic for a rough idle problem during startup. They told me it misfires on cylinder #6 and that the head gasket has failed because they found coolant in the oil and I am not getting full compression on cylinder #6.
My 2004 V6 just started the same thing with 133k...I think Toyota needs to do a recall. It is not a just a coincidence that this is happening between 100k-150k. I have read numerous threads now of this same problem with cylinder #6.
Yep, you are correct. My 4Runner climbed up the stair steps better than anyone thought. A lot of the Jeeps on this trip were locked front and rear with at least 33s. I think most were surprised at how easily I got up the rocks.
One more video from Slickrock Trail. I went pretty slow through this section because everyone was getting close to the rocks on the driver side.

I went off roading with a group of 15-20 Jeeps on the Slickrock Trail near Bear Valley, CA. Here is a video of me going up their Stair Steps near the end of the trail.
