Metal-tech 4x4 and suspension!

History:
Metal-tech 4x4 has been in business for over 12 yrs now, specializing ONLY in Toyota's. We started building performance steel parts for FJ40 Land Cruisers, roll cages, bumpers sliders etc. Over the years we added FZJ80 Land Cruisers as well. In late 2005 we were contacted by Toyota (I thought it was a joke at first by one of our local TLCA buddies, but it was real) asking if we could build a rear tube bumper for some new truck. In early 2006 North America proto type FJ Cruiser #2 was sitting in our shop getting a custom rear bumper. That truck was shown at SEMA in 06'. As a thank you we got our 2007 FJC and fully entered the Toyota IFS world.

Today:
5 yrs later and 100's of installs and several 1000 IFS suspension sales, and weeks on the trail pushing our FJC (Rubicon, Colorado, Moab, SoCal desert, etc) we are very comfortable in saying we know performance IFS suspension. Toyota this past November set us up with a 2011 Trail Edition 4Runner.

Metal-tech 4x4 is now one of the largest distributors for ICON, and very likely the company with the largest stock of Toyota ICON line. We will BEAT anyone's price and service. There is never any shipping cost on ICON Coil Overs or complete ICON kits, no sales tax and every set of ICON coil overs comes with a free Racetec spanner wrench. ($40 value) We are also here to help tech you with any install question, or years later adjustments. After 12 yrs in business we are in for the long haul and will be here for another 12 yrs and more.

We also area stocking distributor and run Total Chaos long travel, Radflo suspension, Sway-a-way and Light Racing.

Performance coil over systems:
ICON
Radflo
Sway-a-way
King

Sealed suspension systems:
Old Man Emu
TJM
Iron Man

Suspension UCA's and long travel:
Total Chaos
Light Racing
Metal-tech 4x4 (rear long travel)

Bottom line we wheel what we sell, all own Toyota's and stock over $60k worth of suspension. Give us a call if you have any suspension questions.

800-839-0684
503-822-1111 ext. 1 direct

Brandon, LT, Josh, Kendal or myself can all help you.

Thank you,

Mark

Wheeling photos of our Gen V 4Runner soon to come this summer. For now here is our FJC working the rocks in Colorado.

RE: Metal-Tech

The best part of all, you are Oregonians! I have been looking around for a suspension. It started as a spacer lift but now I want an ICON suspension for my 2005 V8 sport. I am on a deployment right now but once I get back and I get some leave time, I'll be ready to place an order

Does your long travel rear coil kit work for the 2010+ 4R or just the FJ's?

Thanks, Jason

Our rear long travel kit will work for the 4th Gen and 5th Gen 4Runners. We will be putting the long travel on our own 2011 Trail Team edition along with a Total Chaos 2" LT kit as well.

Are you guys cutting or replacing the fenders? Because TC did some R and D on my truck and determined that the 2" LT will not work without aftermarket or modified fenders... Any details would be appreciated on upcoming products for our 5th gens. We're excited to see how your TE comes out!

We are aware of the 2" LT kit will require some modifications and we will be finding that out once we receive the kit. Radflo is also sending us coilovers, secondary shocks and our custom long travel shocks for the rear as well. We will be running 34" Falken tires to compliment everything else. I'm sure for the front it will be a mixture of limiting the up travel a little bit, removing the fender flares and possibly cutting the inner fender well.

For the rear our long travel kit should fit without any modifications since we have to use a 3" bump stop drop to compensate for such a long shock the tire will stop well before being fully stuffed inside the fender well.

The 2.5" rear reservoir shocks are $424 each, $220 for the springs, $60 for the brake lines and $80 for the aluminum bump stop spacers. We will be getting more of our 2.5" shocks in next week hopefully.

Is there free shipping on the current Icon sale? The shopping cart is quoting me about $100 for shipping.

Which item are you looking to purchase? The current sale for the Icon stage 2 kit with LR UCA's has shipping due to the fact or how low the price is.

How would the regular 2.0 shocks hold up in higher speed stuff (say 40 mph+)? I read on the FJ forum about this kit, and it seems most just do crawling with it. I don't quite have the money yet to throw at new UCA's, ET Icon remote res coilovers along with resi rears at the same time, and this factory suspension is definitely on its way out. Its either front or rear on the resi's as of right now, disappointing, I know.

We have done some high speed desert driving in our FJC and it worked great. It doesn't have as much up travel as a regular set up but it does have more down travel which will keep your tires on the ground.

The 2.0 vs series shock will handle high speeds, Icon has a shock machine where they can test out how long a shock can last. The results came back with no issues in terms of shock fade. The 2.5" remote reservoirs though do have a firmer feel to them and with the added oil capacity it does perform better than the 2.0.
