Hey guys! New T4R owner. Picked up my 11' SR5 today! Mods start tomorrow.
I know I'll miss my Tundra, but this thing is amazing. I'm in Denver and always down for meetups and trips.

Just moved to CO and hoping to meet some nice CO folks. I'm also looking for that one 3rd Gen guy that knows how to do the timing belt on these V6 engines. And one that has the right tool for the job. I can't remember his screen name, but I will find him!

Just bought a 96 4Runner. Has a long pedigree (was owned by Ben @Slee Offroad). Looking forward to getting more involved with this forum.

should i put a new engine in my 93 runner?
Hi everyone!
I'm Jeff from Breckenridge,CO. I have red 93 2nd Generation 4runner with an unknown amount of mileage.(odometer stopped at 168,000)
A few years back an ex-girlfriend of mine was driving it back from denver and it overheated near chief hosa with a bad radiator leak. it has never been the same after that. i know have a pretty bad head gasket leak, oil leak and steering fluid leak...so i'm told. the shop told me it could have 6 months or more, but not worth fixing. the rest of the truck is in really good condition. new shocks, brakes, tires and hardly any rust. it's even running pretty good right now.
my question is: is it worth putting a new engine in this truck? i know i need to have the transmission looked at before i decide.
i would really like to know what your thoughts are on what i should do and if you know any reliable shops in the denver area that deal with new or rebuilt 4runner engines. i really don't want to spend more than $3,000.
any help would be appreciated....thanks!

I wouldn't put that kind of money into it. I just saw a 2nd Gen on Colfax yesterday for $3500.
