New England Members

Just seeing who my 5th gen T4R neighbors are in the New England area. I am from MA but travel a lot back and forth to the White Mountain NH/ME area. Maybe we can do some weekend meet-ups/trips!

Welcome. I too am from MA and travel to VT, NH, and ME. Just came back from Jackson and some great hiking. Let me know if you know of any trails closer to the Boston area. As far as I know, 4x4 trails are like unicorns round these parts.

I'm in Northern Maine. Lots of logging roads to cruise, some older ones to wheel but the ATV's are popular and trucks are not allowed on their trails which would be prime for 4X4. Usually find beaver dams across unused logging roads, that can be interesting. I picked up a SXS 4X4. Can't beat em, join em.

Ya I have noticed that the only fun things are logging roads (which are only fun for a certain amount of time) or unless you are part of a club there are really no great off road trails.

In MA I have not heard of any trails. Maybe out in western MA but I never go out that way. My buddy knows of some easy trails in the Epping area but we have been venturing to the norther parts of NH and Maine.

Hi - another one from MA here!
I found some dirt roads in the Rutland/Quabbin area with a few side of the road locations to practice some of the off-road features.
Also some trails in western Mass and some nice beach and sand dunes on Cape Cod.
But like you guys - most of the time I go to NH and northern Maine (Moosehead Lake area).

I would be in if you do a weekend meet up or drive.

A lot of the trails in that area are private property so be careful.

Seacoast of NH, haven't really hit any trails yet since getting my first 4R last year but plan to do some this summer once I get my sliders on the new one.

Southern NH to Lakes Region here. A remote road some of y'all might like to check out is Sandwich Notch Road. It's a non-maintained road that used to be a carriage trail to connect the Sandwich and Waterville areas. There are some cool things to check out along the way--Beede Falls, lakes, etc.--and is pretty rough and remote. I did it with my F-150 some years back, and it didn't love it!

Cheers.

So funny you mention this. I found the road just looking at google maps last week in Jackson, but my wife thought I was crazy to want to explore a random road I found on maps. So we went hiking instead. Now I will be going back just to drive the road. I knew I was on to something.

I'm new to the forum and to owning a 4runner, but I'm from MA as well. Really wish there were some easy trails (I have a stock SR5) in my area (Plymouth county)

Back in the day I used to rally race in Miles Standish Park in the off season. The dirt roads near the bogs were fun as hell. Nowadays I would imagine that is impossible. There are some beaches on the Cape you can get a permit to drive on. If you stumble upon something, let me know. Welcome to the forums m8.

I see your profile says you are from Westwood. Im from Dedham by the Westwood Norwood line. We should try and set something up and see if we can get a group together to head up to NH and do some camping/offroading.
