Talking My 1st thread.

This is awesome! Happy to be a part of a community that's in love with 4Runners as much as I am. I have a long way to go with my Runner to be even close to what most you guys have xD I've had my 97' for close to 3 years but i had it sitting for close to 2 of those bc i wrecked it haha. Its all fixed up now and ready to do work!!! Replacing shocks and trani fluid and filters next week. Still trying to get use to this forum, so we'll see how it goes. I'll get pics up some time soon... And a question b4 I go. Wanna change my air intake possibly k&n. Thoughts? Comments? Thanks!!

Welcome! Not sure about 3th gens but I know that Volant CAI are popular with 4th gen members because they have an enclosed box opposesd K&N's open box design. Which ever makes you happy and no matter which you pick, she'll have quite a mean growl!

Why the closed instead of open? Does that affect air flow? I'm looking them up right now and am liking what I see ... Thanks!

I believe it's because the closed box is sealed and pulls cold air in from the fender, where the open box would pull air in for the warm engine bay.
