Greetings from Alaska!
Hello! My name is Matt. I have recently taken an interest in a Toyota 4Runner. I don't own one yet. I've always been a GM guy myself. I've owned a few Fords as well. Never a Toyota though. My mom owns a Lexus that she bought brand new in 2003. She has 180,000 miles on it and it still runs great. My step-dad owns a 2011 4Runner and he likes it a lot. He's an oil field foreman and has to drive it off road quite a bit. They live in Oklahoma. I live in Anchorage, Alaska. It's definitely nice to have a 4x4 up here. I've had a couple of Ford Explorers, a Silverado and a GMC Safari van since I've lived here. All 4WD and all were a giant pain in the rear. I've never owned a Toyota but I hear nothing but good things about the 4Runner. Everything about a 4Runner appeals to me. I'm getting ready to go to the Lower 48 in a couple of weeks for my brother's wedding but when I get back, I will be looking to buy a 4Runner. Preferably, a 4th gen. I'd sure buy a clean 3rd gen with low miles though. I want something that can handle driving in the snow for 6 months a year and can handle some light off roading as well. Also, if I can get better than 20mpg on the highway, that would be fantastic!
