new member from Greece...
hello to everybody, merry christmas with best wishes to you all!!!
i'm an owner of a 1987 4runner and im planning to do some of restoring and offroad tunings as well...my 4wd might be the only one here or at least i ve seen anyother the latest 14 years im offroad-busy...i ve allready gain some height on the front by getting some tension to the torsion bars (still waiting for a ball Joint spacer kit)and a pair of higher shackles on rear end..im running 235/85/16 at the time (it came as a 7,5x16 its 200mm width and 81mm height this is what happens with remoulded tires) with no problems only a little bit of accelaration reduction due to the bigger tires..what im looking for these days is a brand NEW or in good condition rear door's window outer seal...it has been cut in half by the previous owner so any Information will be very useful...in my plans i want to transform it to a rescue vehicle (beeing a member of a volunteer team the last 9 years) with off road cabilities and being able to Carry at least one rescue sked..of things here now with the economical crisis is very difficult but im going to do my best...thanks for reading....

Welcome to the forum and merry christmas! I imagine it must be pretty cool to have a 4runner out there where it's so uncommon. It must get a lot of looks.

people are used to see me with non common vehicles as i owned before a samurai,a cherokee xj,a feroza and an isuzu d max(canyon) all with custom modifieds, winch bars, suspensions kit etc...now there is one more reason as they have not seen this model before..(neither did i...)only some early models Near 2005 which came from kosovo,5dr,painted from white to green which being used by the army are the only 4runners being spotted here in Greece.looking forward to meet lot of people with this Car cause many things didnt know how they work(for example the Cruise control) but thanks god there is Internet and utube!!!

gearing...down
hello friends and best wishes for a happy NEW year...
from the latest tests i understood that the torque of my t4r isnt as much as i expected...i know that the 163 hp of the 3,0.lt turbo diesel isuzu or even the 115hp from the 2,5 td xj cherokee i owned the last years are bad examples to compare but driving in the course with 2nd low gear i was very dissapointed...for the summer im willing to wear 33x10,5 so i think ot will be much worse...my use is just hard offroad one in a month or when there is a rescue Mission (recovery from snow/mud/floods or carrying fire & rescue tools and personel) and common everyday use not a pure trial use or 4x4 races...do you recommend 4,56 or 4,88..i think 99% im in 4.1 at the moment...
