New T4R owner - 1995 SR5 4x4 in Seattle area

This is our first 4Runner, bought it for my son, his '10 Jetta wasn't cool enough, he wanted this, commuter Jetta be damned :-)

Picked it up yesterday and found my first challenge today, snowed last night and come to find out the 4WD isn't working. 4WD light doesn't illuminate on the dash ( if it's supposed to), it shifts from 4H to 4L, into low gears but the 4WD isn't engaging. When in low I heard a squealing noise when stationary, maybe vacuum but not positive. Anyhow looks like I have a good site to research here, Hello to all!
-Matt

Thanks... Already found info via search and got the 4WD working, PO had disconnected the vacuum lines to one of the solenoid sand crossed them at the differential. Membership has it's privileges :-)
