hows it going everyone. My name is Anup im from Houston texas and i been drooling over a 4th gen v8 4runner for about 2 years now. And im not going to lie im cheap lol. But i will shop around for parts and cars to find deals left and right. But I will spend money on some good parts and other things too. I currently have a 2jzgte swapped is300. A RHD toyota aristo sitting in about a 1000 pieces with kit, wheels, turbo kit, etx etc. I was trying to build it for 600hp but unfortunately i dont have oil money anymore because i got laid off. So now that project is on hold for a hella long ass time.
First Pic: Fast fwd to this year. I struck a deal for a 2004 t4r SE v8 2wd for $3700. it only had 156k miles. Good motor and straight body. i was expecting a few problems. Here is a pic of my t4r when i brought it home next to my dirty ass gte swapped is300 Looks good right?LoL. I took it to the stealership to get problems diagnosed. And turns out i got a dash on recall and found alot of other problems. So i was like F#$K. I should have only paid the guy like $3k or something. The dealer tried to wheel and deal with me to spend $2k just on replacing the front bearings and 600 just for the brake job. I laughed and gave the tech the bird. Thanks to my shopping around skills i got ALL my parts needed for 1300 given this amount includes fj suspension, brake pads and rotors, bearings, ac blend door actuator, trans service, diff service, freon refill, new LCA, daystar spacers, front bearings, camburg UCAs, new camber bolt, new pinion boot, etc etc. im sure im leaving a few things out.
Second Pic: But here is the hunk shit my mechanic replaced. After replacing all this crap. i got my truck running at 95% now. Dealer did tell me 90k mile service was done so i wont have to worry about that for another 24k miles or so. But i do have to change the relay for my windshield wiper intermittent thing not working and that stupid helicopter sound coming from my ac compressor.
third pic : Everything replaced now.i have no clue what before and after height measurements are and i really dont care because i like it and its leveled out nicely. I set the front bilsteins to 2.5 and added a rear 1.5 spacers to the fj spring. Now i need to know what tire size to go with so ill be setup to go get my alignment done. i was thinking maybe a 265/70/17 or 255/75/17. What you guys think? I am on a tight budget here so i dont want to be buying a bigger size that requires more modding. And i want a size i can throw on the spare tire and put it back in the well.
Anyways if any of you guys are in Houston texas hit me up. Thanks for reading and i do look forward to learning more about this truck and everyone else. have a good day
