I moved to Denver with my dream car....from Atlanta. A Scion tC. I love my tC, don't get me wrong, but the mountains need something a bit more...4 runner.
So I bought a used (obviously) 2001 Limited with only 103k miles, very very clean aside from some rust (no exterior rust at all). Got it for a fair deal, knew it had a few issues but with the low mileage and 'Limited' features I was okay with doing/getting some work done.
Starting my work now to get this thing ready for spring. I'm going to slowly convert it into a small camper of sorts. No plans to go mudding or anything nuts, just needs to be able to get into the back country and home again.
For the time being I am doing:
-sparks and wires
-headlights and some other bulbs
-air filter (performance)
And plan to hire to:
-valve cover gaskets
-rear axel seals
-rear brakes/brake flush
Undecided:
-fuel filter
-power steering flush
I'll head to the other threads to continue my story. Looking forward to getting my hands dirty.
