Newbie from NETN
I'm a 43yr old married mother of two teenagers outside of the home and one step-teenager still living with us. I've owned my 4Runner that I have nicknamed my "Lil' Goat" for 8yrs now. I had a momentary lapse in judgement and traded her for one of my dream cars, a 2000 Monte Carlo SS in black. I dumped $1000 in her in a week and decided after it still wasn't right in three months, that it was time to tuck my tail back to the dealership and trade back for my then 283k mi truck. I was grateful it wasn't sold. The dealer told me the fact that it was dirty on the drive train threw most folks off from buying it. WTH? Aren't we suppose to get these amazing little rides dirty? Oh well. She's back and I don't plan on giving her up again anytime soon, even if she does have 294k on her now.
Lil' Goat is pretty well stock for the moment except for the 265/75/R16s I put on her. She groans at me on the left front when the tire rubs but there's no way I am going back to factory tires. My Cooper Wild Country's have been the best tire I've ever bought, even if they did cost me nearly $700 (OUCH!). I would like to add a wider stance and at least a 3-4in lift on her eventually. Currently I am seeking a brush guard and a good wench. If you all have any suggestions, I would be mighty grateful.
Sooooo, how many are like me and use their 4R as their DD? I baby her on the highway and never hit over 60mph most times on the interstate and manage to get 21mpg on the interstate systems here. It's a bit expensive to drive, but I love every minute of it when I can roll down all 6 windows (sun roof included) and boogie on down the back roads and fire access roads of East TN.
How many folks from the area are there here? I hope to meet up with some like minded folk to find out a few back roads to play around on. As a beginner in the off road, I am itching to get more experience.
Thanks for the opportunity to join and I look forward to talking to ya'll.
