I've been looking at 4runners for about 3 years. I planned to buy an older, used, base level sr5 and upgrade over time. This weekend I stumbled upon a really good price on a used 2018 TRD Offroad and had to pull the trigger. Turned out to be way nicer than I thought when I saw it online. The previous owner had some upgrades, but the salesmen I bought it from didn't really know anything about it. So I'm looking for some help figuring out what exactly is on my vehicle! I've got pictures of the things that I don't think are stock (Icon shocks, 285/70R17 tires, steps/rails on the side, maybe KDSS?). Also, part of the undercarriage looks a bit rusty, but only on one part (looks to me like the exhaust line). Is that pretty common?
Looking for a 4Runner for my son. Would like a V6, but hoping to avoid timing belt (just had a timing belt break and destroy his Xterra). I realize the 3.4L is a non-interference motor, but I would still like to avoid the cost of replacing. So, If I start looking at 2003-2006 or so models, what should I look for? What do I avoid? Should I avoid the 2003 since it was the first model of a new generation??
Hey all! Girlfriend and I just got a 2019 TRD Off Road. Coming to the platform from a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, and it's such an improvement.
Anyway, guess I'll just start chipping away at the 15 post minimum in order to use the classifieds. Will have some stock bits to begin selling off as new parts get installed. Can't wait to get started!
Greetings all! After being forced by my job to buy something other than a Toyota, I'm now back in the fold. Just got home from buying my new 2019 4Runner SR5 Premium in Magnetic Gray Metallic. It was a wonderful ride home. Looking forward to reading a ton of useful information here!
