First Timer
II live in NY and have been watching the site for a while getting ideas and learning about the 5th gen. The site was very important in my decision to buy my first 4runner. I just put a deposit down on my new ride. It's a white ORP with just a moon roof. It was very difficult to find when I ended up having to get it ordered and build. It should be here the first week in April. I plan on buying a good amount of aftermarket goodies and posting them here.

Believe it or not I bought a 2019 new last night. Yes, 7 months before the 2021s are out. Toyota kicked in a $1250 rebate to help sell it. Paid my taxes for me. Try searching for 2019s new. This lot had 3, including a TRD.

I just joined. We bought a 2016 SR5 new in Dec of 2016. I was amazed how popular 4runners are and proud dealers are. Not a whole lot of negotiating was allowed at the dealer. 🙂 We originally had an Edge and wasn't sure we wanted to switch especially when I'm a Ford guy. But the wife loves it and may never go back. I've been impressed so far. Not as many bells and whistles but you always have tradeoffs.

Hi all. I'm Tyler from Denver and drive a silver '99 SR5 with 180k miles on it. I've been lurking these forums for years but finally made an account to try and get some help with a vacuum hose issue. It's extremely frustrating to see that I'm forced to spam this thread in order to get any help first.

My friends and I all use these T4R forums for help and guidance when doing repairs. Plus YouTube videos made by TimmytheToolman and others. It'd be a lot nicer if I could ask for help after 1 introduction post instead of 15.

I had a misfire in cylinder 2 and after replacing the spark plugs, wires and moving the coil packs around I concluded that it was a fuel injector issue. This theory was given support when I ran a can of BG44K through my system and the problem disappeared for several weeks. I wish I could post my own thread asking for help with the vacuum hose issue instead of spending my morning spamming this thread with nonsense.

Here's a pic of my engine bay from last night. I followed TimmytheToolman's video for replacing the fuel injectors. His video isn't exactly right for a '99 4Runner but it was close enough and I figured it out. My friends and I are extremely thankful for his contributions.

There should be a section specifically for people like me who created an account to try and get some help. This really isn't logical. It would be better to ask new members to post 1 introduction in a certain thread with certain keyword requirements and then allow them to create their own threads.
