long time lurker, first post

Hello all,

I actually joined T4R a while ago. I dont recall exactly when but I picked up my 2002 SR5 4x4 in early 2017 and signed on here shortly after.

I forgot my username and login (later figured out how to recover it), so I've basically just lurked on these forums for a while, getting advice on builds, mods, and repairs. Thanks to T4R I've made a lot of headway on my build and want to start posting here to get better advice and want to contribute to the community. Will post some more pictures shortly, thanks everyone.

I'm going to have tons of questions as I make all these improvements so I'm glad to have this resource. Thanks!
I did it! Got the vehicle for $28,616. Adding red D-shackles and a TRD grill this weekend.

noob

hey everyone, new to 4Runners. After about two and a half months of searching I finally found the right one for me. during this process i learned a lot about runners and I read through a lot of forums. bought a pre-owned 2005 4runner 4.7. I am the 3rd owner. Anyway, there's no going back for me, its 4Runner for life at this point! I now understand why everyone here loves this truck. Just wanted to introduce myself

Hello from S.E. AZ

Just got my new to me 2008 silver 4x4 4Runner yesterday. Looking forward to the knowledge about which lift/leveling kits, wheels, tires, accessories etc... and support needed for what I hope to be a long reliable journey with my 1st Toyo.

MY GARAGE
Howdy!

Been looking for a while and finally dove on in. Traded my 2016 Tacoma SR5 for a "gently" used 2013 T4R SR5 4x4 in Blizzard Pearl Metallic.

Well over twice the milage of my taco and drives like a dream. Cant wait to get into some mud. Now just needing mod money

New on here. Haven't pulled the trigger yet on a 4runner but I'm looking at one tomorrow. 04 Sport 87k original owner. He's asking $7900 which I think is a bit steep but it looks clean.

Coming from a 18 Honda Pilot... Thanks divorce! lol I was a tech for Toyota before I hurt my neck so I know I would be buying something solid and long lasting.

I have 3 kids 1 regular seat and 2 boosters so just gotta make sure I can fit all 3 in the back. If anyone has any insight on that It would be appreciated.

Look forward to learning lots on this forum.

Hi all! I finally caved last Saturday and bought my new truck....a 19í 4Runner TRD ORP with the XP package. I absolutely love (almost) everything about it. Iíve been reading through threads all week trying to figure out what my first few mods are going to be. First will probably be changing the silver valances. I canít stand everything else blacked out but Toyota decided to keep the valances silver? Lol
Def looking forward to everything the T4R world has to offer!! For all new members, you can say hi here, please dont litter other threadsa

Smile New to the T4R lifestyle! New here too...

Hello all! Prouty from P-town here! Picked up our first 4runner last November after saying "we are going to get one of those" for the last several years. So we pulled the trigger on a new 2019 SR5P in super white. I absolutely LOVE this thing. We were in a hurry bc the engine in my Tahoe went out (shocking right?!) so we made the whole 200 yard trek to the Toyota dealer and started dealing.

So last week I was looking for a beater with a heater and picked up a 2005 SR5 with 179K from the original owner. This thing is insane in the snow! I bought it for $5k and have put about $500 into it and I'm getting new sway bars and an exhaust pipe on it today.

So we are a 2 4runner house now! Pretty fun too now that the snow is falling. We dont plan on doing any real off-roading (yet) so we are enjoying the shit weather and that Toyota reliability! Again pretty new to all this so I will probably be posting basic questions for the experts here to help me on!

It's time for a few spammish posts. I'm getting my new parts in today and tomorrow - JBA UCAs, Bilstein 6112/5160s, and OME 895 rear springs. Excited to rip out the XREAS on my '03 and get it ready for some summer camping/trail riding!

PS, for other newbs who need to get posts in - feel free to reply to this with questions. I'd love for some interesting discussion

I have an '03, same model with a v8, and it fits two carseats pretty well with some room in the middle. If your middle person isn't too big, it probably wont be too much of an issue.

I'm working on the same. I'm getting parts in today and tomorrow and want to start my own build thread already. I'm pumped to get some upgrades going.

If you're in the VA - NC - WV - MD area and have suggestions for decent dealers that would help too.
* Pushes glasses up * Well according to my research...

I think it depends on your use. From what I can tell, the 4runner has a tighter wheel geometry, so it's better for rock crawling/high clearance sort of things?

I've got two kids, and had an easier time convincing my wife to get a 4runner over a Tacoma, because "trunk space" and the fact that all things equal, 4runners are cheaper to buy than Tacomas for whatever reason.

Ha! I had a hard time convincing my wife that we needed another car, but after we test drove our first 4th gen, she was ALL on board. We ended up buying it in the end, and it's been amazing. Coming from a sedan and a first gen 'Yota pickup, it's been fantastic for road trips and off road.
