I swear I'm not trying to spam this thread, I just want to get rolling with a build thread, etc.

This site has been a huge help for so many things. I feel like a few months ago, I knew nothing about suspensions, lifts, parts necessary, diffs, etc. Glad the site is around

This will probably be all redundant when I make my own build thread, but I'll go over deets on what I decided to do - Went with 6112s because they were only like $100 more than 5100s, and they have more fluid, so they should handle washerboard for longer stretches, or at least, that's how I understand it. Plus they look awesome. Then I found them and 5160s together for about $950 somewhere and pulled the trigger. They end up being cheaper than 5100s with coils.

JBAs, because they use cheap parts, and can be kept clean via regular greasing on the zurks.

A question that anyone can feel free to answer - anyone know of a manufacturer who makes 17"x7.5" wheels on the cheap in alloy? All I can find are TRD OEM rims, or 17"x8" or 9", which doesn't work well with my tire of choice. The wheels would need the whole 4.5" backspacing, because reasons

Forgot to add - I'll be running 255/80/r17. After a lot of research, it feels like wider tires' only benefit beyond looking freaking awesome, is that they float better on deeper mud/sand and help prevent getting your axle stuck. Other than that, pizza cutters (when aired down and have a high enough sidewall profile) seem to be better at most everything.

Not alloy, but method builds the 17x7.5. Their trail series has some interesting features for off-roading without going full headlock.

I think I'm pretty tempted by those TRD pro rims. They're 23-25lbs by the looks of it, and fit the size I'm looking for pretty easily

Post 15. For tires, I've been tossing around the idea of Falken or Toyo, but the Toyo AT Open Country ATIIs appear to be lighter weight, so better MPG. Since I do a lot of traveling on my 4runner to locations, I think they'll win the race.

Good to know. Thank you! Didn't get a chance to look at the one today the guy said someone looked at it a few days ago and made him an offer over the phone today so he's gonna wait for him since he was first. Ugh

Good luck! I hope you win the bidding war. I got mine for just under 6k with quite a few miles on it. For having sub 100k, I'd say the one you're looking at is a pretty good deal.
