it definitely got a new welded-in radiator support. It was out of wack pretty back. Luckily my brother is a master body technician with access to the shop and all the fancy tools and was able to help me out on a long saturday a couple of weeks ago. Their shop spot welder he used was $40k lol
It realistically should have gotten a new fender apron as well, but since it was an $800 piece that was going to take a while to get here he decided to pull and beat mine as straight as he could manage. Even the right side inner apron got tweaked a little when the support gave way.
With all the work he did, everything lined up bolting back up for the most part but we had to adjust the hood hinge height and play with fender placement to get the gaps looking decent. That would be my biggest concern with just beating one straight, especially when it comes time to mount the hood latch and have it close properly. But if you can get it close enough, even if its not pretty I guess you could make it work.

2007 V8 Limited
Hey all, Been scouring the forum and wanted to say hello and thank you for all the info. Picked up a 2007 V8 limited with 158k. Some rusting on the frame, needs some paint, but looking forward to learning more about it. Hopefully using it as a local daily driver and some camping trips in New England.

So many questions with this pic and nobody has said anything.
So...
Wrap or paint? Or is it the filter in the picture?
That color looks bad ass if it’s not a filter.
And if it’s not a filter, windows tinted to match?
Need more pix plz!

Welcome!! I'm kind of a newbie myself, but your rig is so much like mine I thought I could chime in. Great job getting the V8. How may miles? It's quick and easy to change the fluid in the differentials (f&r) and the transfer case. Some people in the rust belt have issues removing the plugs, but if it's a Southern or Western car it shouldn't be a problem. Maybe lube the u-joints while you're under there. Check all the rubber pieces of the suspension. Yours looks to have been cared for, so probably be just fine.

I have spent the last 9 years with a 2011 XTerra which I just sold prior to my move. It was a great truck, I'm just looking for something with a little more room, and a bit more refined.
The message board has been super helpful already, researching the various trims/options. The "what did you pay" thread has been really great as well.
Wondering if anyone in the Denver/CO area has recommendations for which dealers I should start my search with? Obviously price is a big factor, but I plan on keeping this 4Runner for a long time and get it serviced at the dealer, so I'd love to go to a place that has a good reputation here.

I got my 2020 ORP from Stevinson Toyota East in Aurora about a month ago, they had the best prices in the Denver area at the time. I have yet to get it serviced, though I will probably do service at a dealership closer to downtown, where I live.

New forum member and new 4Runner owner here. 2020 SR5 and my first 4Runner. Previously owned a 2014 GX, which was a fantastic truck. Wanted something more utilitarian. Only work I've put into it so far include installing a Niserack (learned from this site) and the 12volt remote start module.

Only thing left on it now is to paint the rear door and the plastic trim around the car in the next 2 weeks and slap the lift on and she'll be ready to go!

5th?? What else have you rebuilt?

Welcome to the family! Not a 4th gen owner, but they definitely deserve more love than they get. Wishing you well with your new baby!

Hey there!
Finally found a good deal on a clean 4runner after searching for a month. Really wanted a V8, Trail or TRD. Ended up settling for an adult owned 2012 SR5 with 70k miles and a manual transfer case. The truck is really clean and has never been off-roaded.
Plan to build it up to be decent on the trail, however i'm hesitant to start building. The truck has 3rd row seats that eat up the interior space, chrome everywhere and the bodywork hangs lower than I realized. Would love some feedback from the community.
