2007 V6 4Runner SR5 149K miles

So I need a little help getting the right suspension set up for my daughters first 4Runner.

This 4Runner will mainly be a daily driver for school and sports. We live in MN and have to deal with snow. She will also be using it for Hunting, Fishing and Camping. It is not going to get pounded on but she will need it for getting across fields and some minor off roading.

I want to get the front end leveled (front is 2” lower than the back) and I was planning on buying Bilstein 5100’s for front and back.

My question is, Is it best to raise the front with shocks and springs and can I put in new rear spring in with shocks without changing the rear ride height to much.

I see some talk about using Bilstein 5100”s with OME springs. Is this a good setup? (looking for recommendations)

Still struggling with linking from Google Photos.

Sharing this for the new folks.



The common trap for young players is to make sure the web address (URL) is a link direct to the image and not to the Google Photos page containing the image.

This is the usual error that results in a failed image. Google wants to promote itself to your friends so the default 'Share' link that they provide is to a Google page containing the image and not a direct link to the image. This default page link will not embed the image on any forum nor any web page.

So... if your image URL looks like this;

the image will not display.

The fix
1. Open Google Photos in Chrome or Firefox on a PC* or Safari on a Mac
2. Browse to the photo you wish to share on these forums.
3. Click the photo to enlarge it.
4. Right click and copy the image URL (Chrome = Copy image address, Firefox = Copy image location).

* this fix will not work with MS Internet Explorer or MS Edge.

Your image URL will now be very long and random looking, something like this;

Brand new member. I’ve finally decided to join after lurking for a bit. I don’t even have my Runner yet! Dealership estimates between August 18th and August 24th. Trading in a 17 Taco since I couldn’t resist army green...

Anyway! Already planning on accessories and upgrades. My wife is NOT happy about the fact that I’m already spending additional money on a vehicle we don’t even have in the stable yet.

What’s up Fellas, newbe here I just want to say hi I got a 2002 Toyota 4 runner 4x4 sport edition with 199000 on the dash. Just took her out this past weekend to Brian head Utah from So cal made it there and back just fine she’s a beauty I love this runner well peace y’all.

Hello from Chicago, first time 4Runner owner and just recently got a 2020 SR5P. Can't wait to get modding!

I have a 2006 4runner sr5. We're a Toyota family and this is my first 4runner. We had this great car for the past year and yesterday we were in a minor front end collision with a city bus. No engine damage, seems to be only cosmetic. I've been a long time lurker so I figured I'd finally join because I need some help with the repairs. Will be posting more soon. Can't wait to check out all these great builds.
