Always enjoyed my 4Rs and now I finally joined

Hey guys and maybe gals,

Another newbie! I've had a 1997 and I sure miss it. Never been able to do any mods to it. Got totaled due to someone else fault! UGH! Now I have 2011 SR5 and now am able to do little mods here and there. I look forward to looking what is all out here in the forum. I need some ideas!

New member with new 93 Gen3

Just got my 93 Gen2 T4R (2WD, 3.0L, SR5) and really excited to get it fixed up.
First time purchasing on eBay and it was a nearly perfect experience.
Had some delays with transport and had to offer more $$, but it worked out and made a new HotShot friend.

Right now, I am looking for running board mounts.
I bought some boards off a 2014 for $40, which look great (chrome and black rubber), but I need different mounts for my 93.
The ones on eBay for Gen3 look like they might fit but I am not sure and they are priced at over $100 (with s&h). Not crazy expensive, but sure would blow my nearly free running board find.

After a few other cosmetic updates (broken interior parts and stained carpet), I plan to find some aftermarket brush/bull guard and lights.
Also thinking about installing a kill switch.

Just registered, but have been reading posts here for several years. Most of the time my questions have been answered this way. Having obscure ABS issues atm :-(

I swear, there's only about 8 parts on this truck that I haven't replaced yet.

Greetings everyone! Just joined the 4Runner club last week. Not really fancy at all but I wanted an upgrade from my little 2005 CRV for camping, fire-trails, and light off-roading (I'm in Florida). Picked up a 2007 V6 SR5 2WD in Shadow Gray Mica at 182k miles. Looking forward to some simple mods and learning how to work on a car/basic maintenance. Heard these are super reliable and great to learn on given the popularity of parts, aftermarket support, and overall information out there. I've already garnered a slew of information from this forum and can't wait to start making my own posts.

I'm also chasing an ABS-light issue right now haha. Fuses look good and so far it doesn't seem to be the gas cap. Next I'll be checking the brake sensor under the pedal. Welcome!

Damn! 52k? Lowest mileage 4th gen I saw over the past couple months while I've been looking was like 90,XXX. Nice snag and congrats!

Thanks :-)
My ABS light isn't on, so that rules out quite a few things. I'll check the brake sensor under the pedal next.
Do you have an ABS code reader? If not, you can jump the port using a paperclip. There are a few threads on this forum that can help.
Best of luck to ya!

Smile Intro

Hello everyone! I've browsed for a while now to learn more about my 4Runner. I have had my 06 4Runner SR5 for about 3 years now. Bought it with about 90k miles and couldn't be happier. I'm looking to use these forums to better communicate with other 4th gen owners!

Welcome! You made a great choice. I have the same car except it is 06 and titanium metallic. I prefer your trucks color honestly haha! I've had mine for about 3 years now but also looking to do some simple mods. What are you thinking of starting with? Maybe headlights and roof rack??

Hello. I found this forum while searching for information on my 2003 4-Runner which I bought 5 years ago. This is my 4th 4Runner having previously owned a 1996, 1997 and a 2005. The previous ones I bought new.

I have found the forum to be very interesting as well as informative. I have found solutions to problems I have had as well as ideas for upgrades I would like to make in the future.

I look forward to reading a lot more.
