I have wanted a 4Runner since '95. So happy to finally join the club last month with a 2021 Limited. I love this truck!

Clunking noise during start-up and acceleration
Good afternoon!
New member to the T4R forum. Not that I haven't gone to this site before for answers, just never needed to post my own question. Also, not that new to the Toyota family. I am rocking a 2016 Trail with 46K miles. I have put them all on myself. It has just recently started getting cold out and I am now getting a knocking sound from start-up and during some accelerations from my muffler, I believe. The sound is right under the passenger seat. However, when I look under the vehicle during start-up, it doesn't happen. I am running the MBRP exhaust system. For the price, it's everything I needed for a little more throaty sound. Has anyone else had any experience with this? Is it just because of the cold?
Thanks!
Austen

Welcome to the family! Going with the 4Runner has been one of the best decisions I have made and it hasn't failed me yet! Just wish we could get a diesel in it like they have overseas.

I have my fingers crossed that we might get it one day. If anything, I will try to send a Hilux Surf back from Japan. haha.

2007 4Runner SR5 - Sport Edition
Hello, my wife and I are looking at buying a 2007 4runner that has 211,000 miles. They are asking $7,000 - walk out the door $7,500. I looked online and this seems to be a great deal even with the mileage. Should I be concerned or should I ask for less? Also, when we go and look at it anything I should look out for? Thank you!

Agree on the Fortuner. Drove one in Central America. That turbo diesel buries the 4.0L.

Just a girl in love with 4Runners
Hey everyone! I recently purchased a 3rd gen with 170k on it and am stoked to build it out. Here to observe, admire and gain inspiration. I had a 3rd gen named Clifford about six years ago that I had to let go of but it made it to 390k. I hope to help this one make it even farther.
It’s currently in the shop getting a cat and a thorough inspection. Definitely have some clogged drain lines from the sunroof and it is raining harder inside than it is outside in Oregon 😅 I am still considering details for all the upgrades and am excited to share its journey with y’all.
P.S. no clue how to add pics yet. I’m sure I’ll figure it out after I post this lol
