Hey y'all! New member here. Looking at buying my first 4runner to take on a cross country road trip from Brooklyn to Montana this summer. My little CR-V is on his last legs and after doing a bunch of research I've decided a 4runner is the way to go.
I'm looking for a 4th gen. V6, pref. 06-09, well maintained and decently rust free, mostly stock, <150k mi. Think it's possible? I'm in NYC but I can travel around the Northeast for the right car. I will post a WTB in the for sale section when i get to my post requirement.
Can't wait to get my rig and go explore! This community is awesome!
New to the forum here, used to own a 2014 SR5 4x2 years ago, went from that to Subarus, VWs and now I’m finally back in a T4R and couldn’t be happier!
I recently got a 2021 T4R TRD OffRoad Premium X Series in silver.
What 2-2.5” lift kit would y’all recommend? I’d like to get rid of the typical nosedive but there’s too many options out there in the market these days. I was initially thinking of just coil spacers but that doesn’t fix the nosedive. Open to recommendations.
After many years of wanting a 4Runner finally bought a 4Runner! 3rd gen has always been my favorite but snagged up a 5th gen with 150K miles from a private seller for a great deal. Bone stock for now, it will be a slow build but plan to keep the 4Runner till at least 300K miles. Currently we have a 02 Highlander with 240k miles and counting

Goal is to continue getting into overlanding and have some nice trips with the fam. wherever we are at that time.
New to the forum, new 4runner owner as well. My 97 crv was stolen last month and so I figured why not get my dream car I can really invest in and build? My dad is a car guy and he had a 99 4runner when I was growing up so I guess it rubbed off on me. I picked up a 98 v6 SR5 on Craigslist a couple weeks ago for $3600. 340K miles. The body and interior are overall in great shape, except for the bumper being moderately dented (actively replacing it soon). The radiator was busted so I swapped that out, new fan clutch, new thermostat. About to do the diff fluids next. I’ll post some before/after pics soon. Also during draining the radiator, I realized the skid plate is welded on. Anyone ever experienced that before? Reasons? Tips with grinding that off? Don’t have a ton of grinder experience so feel a little nervous about that.
Overall excited to be here, see everyone’s cool builds, and be part of a community where people love & appreciate their rides.
Hi all!, new to the forum, not 4runner owner yet but thinking to buy a 2nd gen very soon, and I want to learn and read experiences from other owners.
Great place!!
Hey everyone! New here, just bought my second 4runner and looking into modifying it here soon! Bone stock ‘05 with 88k miles . Look forward to seeing some build inspirations on here and meeting new people!
I am just getting back into having a project/fun rig. I bought a 1990 Toyota 4runner 5 speed with 172k on the engine. Just got it road legal and slowly starting the building process. Hoping to get all the insight and tips and trick for builds and parts. Looking forward to learning and getting to know people.
