So... to buy my unicorn I hauled 3 hours up from central Mass to north of Portland and met this dude from Facebook Marketplace. The truck was in pretty good shape but in obvious need of some repairs...

The guy I bought it from was a little weird though. Really scrawny white guy with two braids in his hair and mutton chops at least three inches long off his face and a cutoff tee that went all the way down the sides. He drove it around the block once then we swapped, the engine, clutch and trans all felt mint.

The paint was great the interior was pretty good and it had some rust but no more than the typical amount for a northeast car. So I got him down $500 and we were on our way.

I need more practice with manuals so my dad drove home and I followed. We swapped places at one point and we pull up to a toll. I look back at him and give him a thumbs-up just to see how it's going...

He reaches into the center console and proceeds to pull out a box of condoms. I crack up laughing so does he and he stalls at the toll cause we're both laughing so hard. He then calls me as we're driving off and tells me "yea so his condoms and at least an ounce of weed are still in here" I'm dying laughing again driving down I-95 through Maine. I'm like you gotta throw that out the window we can't afford for you to get arrested. So he does.

I guess it's just good to know my 4Runner had a good life before me. I've yet to go through the rest of the car because I had to drop it off at home and head to Cape Cod for the week to do some work but I will update you on anything else I find in it.
